Exactly. And I don’t see Joss Whedon as being misogynistic because he snuck such an “outrageous” slur against women into his movie and is proud of it. Quite honestly, if I could pull that off and still keep my movie PG-13, I’d probably be proud too.
Because if he were truly misognystic, he’d just have made Black Widow into a one-dimensional character that seems kickass at the beginning but is really just there so that the audience can stare at her ass.
And in the context of the scene, he said some stuff that very obviously affected Black Widow more than those two words (since he threatens not only someone she trusts, but by extension threatens to not only kill her, but kill her in ways that terrify her).
